Who should be checked
- Everyone above 40, at least once a year
- People with a family history of glaucoma
- People with diabetes, high myopia or long-term steroid use
Why early detection matters
Glaucoma usually has no early symptoms. Damage to the optic nerve cannot be reversed, but timely treatment can slow or stop further vision loss. Treatment may include eye drops, laser or surgery, and it needs regular follow-up of eye pressure.
