Phakic IOL surgery is an option for people who want freedom from glasses but are not suitable for LASIK, for example because of very high power or a thin cornea. A special lens is placed inside the eye while your natural lens stays in place. As Dr. Akash Tandon explains in our videos, the procedure is usually stitch-free and takes about 15 to 20 minutes, and the lens can be removed or replaced later if needed.
Like every surgery it has risks, and a detailed evaluation decides whether it is right for you.
